Built Better: Inside the Atomizer FURY Injector Redesign
When you are building a serious fuel system, small details make a major difference.
Injector fitment, connector clearance, intake-manifold geometry, heat exposure, and dual-injector packaging can all turn a straightforward installation into a frustrating one. Atomizer developed the FURY injector design around the real-world challenges performance builders face in demanding street, boosted, and race applications.
The result is a more refined injector platform focused on clearance, fitment, durability, and reliability.
A 90° Connector for Better Rail Clearance
The Atomizer FURY injector features a 90-degree electrical connector configuration that creates additional clearance around the fuel rail and nearby components.
In compact engine bays, wiring and connector orientation can become a major obstacle. The revised connector layout gives installers more room to route the injector harness and helps improve fitment where rail clearance is limited.
Slimmer Body for Dual-Injector Applications
Dual-injector combinations require precise packaging. When injectors are installed side by side, body diameter and connector placement can quickly become a clearance issue.
The FURY injector’s slimmer body profile is designed to improve side-by-side fitment in high-density fuel-system applications. Whether the setup uses staged fueling, high-volume fuel delivery, or a dedicated race combination, the updated body shape provides more room where it matters most.
Insulated Lower Body Protection
In a tight intake-manifold area, injector-to-manifold contact can be more than a fitment concern.
Atomizer added insulation to the lower section of the FURY injector to help protect the metal injector body from shorting against the intake manifold if an electrical circuit is unintentionally completed through the wiring harness.
This added protection is especially important in the event of moisture intrusion, fuel exposure, damaged wiring, a defective injector driver, or another electrical fault within the system. By insulating the lower body, the FURY design helps reduce the chance of the metal injector body becoming part of an unintended electrical path when it contacts the manifold.
As with any performance fuel-system installation, proper wiring, connector condition, grounding, and inspection remain essential. The insulated lower body is an added layer of protection—not a substitute for diagnosing and correcting an electrical issue.
Raised Lower O-Ring for Stepped Bungs
Not every intake manifold uses the same injector-bung design. Some manifolds use stepped bungs that can affect how an injector seats and seals.
Atomizer raised the lower O-ring location on the FURY injector to better accommodate manifolds with stepped injector bungs. This helps improve compatibility and supports a more secure, correctly positioned installation across a broader range of intake-manifold configurations.
Heavy-Duty Automotive-Spec Materials
The FURY injector is molded from heavy-duty, automotive-spec fiberglass-reinforced nylon rather than polypropylene.
Material selection matters in a performance engine environment. Fiberglass-reinforced nylon is better suited to heat cycles and harsh underhood conditions, with a higher melting temperature than polypropylene. The result is a durable injector body designed for the elevated temperatures and demanding use associated with serious performance combinations.
Refinement That Supports Performance
The FURY injector design also focuses on reduced weight, higher-quality construction, and refined opening-and-closing performance.
Atomizer did not make these changes simply to create a new appearance. Every update addresses a practical builder need:
-
More clearance around the fuel rail
-
Better packaging for dual-injector setups
-
Added lower-body insulation for potential electrical-fault conditions
-
Improved compatibility with stepped injector bungs
-
Heavy-duty material construction for high-heat environments
-
A refined design built around fitment and performance consistency
Built for the Demands of Performance Fuel Systems
From boosted street vehicles to high-horsepower drag-race combinations, Atomizer FURY injectors are engineered to help solve real fitment and durability challenges without compromising fuel-system performance.
More rail clearance. Better injector packaging. Protection where it matters. Heavy-duty material construction.
