FUEL INFORMATION
EXAMPLES ARE BASED OFF VP RACING FORMULATED FUELS
*IF NOT USING VP FUEL, CHECK WITH YOUR FUEL MANUFACTURER *
HARSH FUEL:
THESE FUELS ARE ETHANOL OR ALCOHOL BASED WHICH HAVE A HIGH RISK AND PROBABILITY TO CORRODING YOUR INJECTORS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THIS OCCURS WHEN OXYGEN MIXES WITH THE FUEL IN THE INJECTOR. THESE FUELS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• M1 (VP SPEC. FORMULA): METHANOL
• M5 (VP SPEC. FORMULA): 95% METHANOL, 5% NITROMETHANE
• NITROMETHANE
• NITRO 50-50: 50% METHANOL, 50 % NITROMETHANE
• “X” SERIES FUELS: X85, X85L, X98
• SOME “C” SERIES FUELS: C85
FUELS ARE FUELS THAT ARE OXYGENATED. THIS MEANS THEY HAVE AIR MIXED IN THE CHEMICAL MAKE-UP OF THE FUEL TO CREATE MORE HEAT ENERGY IN THE CYLINDER BUT MAKE FOR AN EVEN HIGHER RISK OF CORROSION. EXAMPLES OF THESE FUELS ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• “Q” SERIES FUELS: Q15, Q16, Q16 REG
• SOME “C” SERIES FUELS: C45
NON-HARSH FUELS:
THESE ARE FUELS THAT ARE PETROLEUM BASED UNLEADED GASOLINE USED FOR RACING APPLICATIONS AND NON-OXYGENATED. THESE FUELS HAVE LUBRICATION IN THE FUEL WHICH ALLOWS THE INJECTORS TO BE ABLE TO SIT FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME WITHOUT RISK OF CORROSION OCCURING. THESE FUELS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• SOME “C” SERIES FUELS: C10, C11, C12, C14, C14 PLUS, C15, C16, C20, C23, C25
• “VP” SERIES FUELS: VP110, VP113 REG, VP IMPORT REG, VP MGP, VP VINTAGE LEADED
• HP101
• SOME “X” SERIES: X14, X16
